Tikehau Tranquility
Ever since I read about French Polynesia as a child, I have wanted to visit the Tuamotu Island chain. Tikehau is known for its huge lagoon and incredible varieties of fish. This view features traditional style Polynesian homes on a pink sand beach with vibrant turquoise waters. This was a challenging painting as I stood on an overwater bungalow walkway and various staff members kept going by, plus I needed to make sure I didn't drop anything. Well, I did... I dropped my paintbrush holder, luckily when I was done painting. And yes, I waded down into the water to fetch it. Definitely a memorable painting experience!
